Over the next couple of months, Datahub Consulting are going to publish blogs on the services that we offer. Today we are focussing on a workshop that we do with all our projects, so that we can focus on deliverables to the client using the “Right First Time” model. We call this workshop the Analytics Discovery Workshop which forms part of the data and analytics discovery phase.

Firstly, let’s have a look at the complementary analytics workshop.
We have found in the past that businesses know very little about the true value of their data. How they can take their data forward, and also have a vision for planning the data and analytics journey.
For all organizations we offer a complementary analytics workshop to create a custom data strategy. Think of it as a whiteboard session where you can map out your future vision. With this workshop you will get 2 hours with one of our architects. What we will try to achieve:
Before the workshop we will call you to find out about the organization, the industry that you are in, when you started to use data driven reports, if there is any areas that you would like us to focus on. For example, if you have difficult with monitoring deliveries, or sales conversion rates etc.

This is a lot to do in 2 hours, so Datahub will do as must preparation work in advance to support your organization. This is why the pre-workshop call is important.
With all projects where we engage with either current and new clients, we will undertake a discovery phase. This discovery will consist of a workshop, talking to key stakeholder, understand any business logic, and the deliverables to achieve success for the project. So that we can achieve the project on a “Right First Time” model we need to gather information.

Depending on the size of the project, the organization, and complexity of the data, this discovery phase could take up to 5 days. We would spend time with the technical people, management, and key stakeholders, so that we have a full and in-depth understanding of the project requirements.
